It seems QUIET here this morning. We had a great weekend, Saturday was my Brother-in-law's 40th birthday. It was a good time. The potato gun had a little competition too! Lot's of friends and family and the weather was fantastic. The air is getting much cooler and it seems that fall truly is just around the corner. I know I need to empty all the flowerpots in the garden, they've seen better days, and I suppose the goldfish in the pond need to be caught and brought in for the winter. The deck needs to be cleared of any access furniture, and the shed desperatley needs to be organized! All of the gourds that are still clinging to the vine will need to be cut and hung in the barn to dry over the winter. I got so many more last year. I'm sure that is owned to the fact that we had an extremely wet June and July. August and September have been spectacular but it's just not enough for these gourds, which require a nice long growing season. Still, I should end up with 7-8 that will be bird house ready by next April. The beams in the barn are the perfect place to hang them. The plan for this week? Spring cleaning in the fall! Each day, one room...top to bottom. It's clearing out time! We will have to close these windows for good very soon, I hate the idea!
